Reposting here for @Amanda Marie whose boyfriend recently had brain tumour removed and is currently recovering. Two weeks ago they removed a hemangioblastoma from his brain stem. Since then he can’t swallow, seeing double, and they did a tracheostomy, right side has been affected a bit but we haven’t fully tried walking although I expect he’ll need rehab. He got a brain infection and had some vasospasms since. So that has delayed his recovery quite a bit. So we are still in the icu. I want to be as supportive as possible. Crazy enough we live in the US but he’s Australian and is doing his treatment there. I’m currently with him but can’t stay long. So I’m trying to wrap my head around the logistics of being there for him. I have my son and work in the US and am trying to figure out how I can be in two places at once. Any other care givers out there who can give me some tips on what I should do? I know it’s still early and time will tell how his recovery will be.
